Your workshop will be led by Alessandro Quao, music producer, youth worker and graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP). Alessandro knows how to make music production feel creative, fun, and genuinely approachable whether you’re obsessed with music or just curious to try something new.
Over the week he’ll help participants experiment with beats, samples and track-building, build confidence and create something they’re proud of. From hip-hop and grime to house, indie and electronic, participants can explore whatever style inspires them.
Also supported by xxx (other person!)…to make sure everyone feels wlecome, supported and included

WHAT WILL I DO DURING THE WORKSHOP?
-
Learn how to create original tracks using BandLab — a beginner-friendly music production platform used by creators around the world. From your first beat to a finished track, you’ll build something that’s completely your own
-
Try out drum loops, samples, sound effects and MIDI basics to create different styles and moods. Whether you're into rap, grime, indie, house, pop or something totally different — there’s room to experiment
-
Get to grips with the building blocks of music production — from song structure and layering to rhythm, arrangement and mixing
-
Music is better together. Work individually on your own ideas and collaborate with others to swap inspiration, test ideas and build confidence in a supportive, low-pressure environment
-
Bring your track to life visually by designing custom artwork for your music. Think album covers, visuals and personal style — the finishing touch to your finished piece
-
End the week with a relaxed live listening showcase at Moot, where participants can share what they’ve made with family and friends (but only if they want to — no pressure!)
-
Every participant is welcome to stay on after sessions and enjoy unlimited free play on Moot’s table tennis, table football, basketball and retro arcade games.
